What are the best soft close cabinet hinge add-on devices?
I found these “Shut Softly” cabinet add-on devices at Menards for about $12 for 4 devices. They work great but if you don’t have a Menard’s near you, or you want to add them to your whole kitchen, you can get a 10 pack of almost identical devices by Rok Hardware on Amazon for about $25.

How to install soft close cabinet add-ons in under 5 minutes
Step 1: Adjust your device
Each device has a screw that needs to be adjusted depending on the weight of your cabinet doors. The instructions recommend turning the screw out for heavier doors and in for lighter doors.
After playing around with the adjustment, it seems to be more personal preference than it does about how fast you want the doors to close. So don’t worry about it too much, simply adjust to what you prefer and move on to step 2.
Step 2: Pre-drill (Don’t skip this step)
This step is essential to avoid any risk of cracking the cabinet, so please DON’T be lazy and skip it. I know the urge to say, “oh come on Ryan it will be fine,” but the one time you don’t stop to pre-drill, you know it will crack the cabinet.
Simply hold the add-on in the top corner closest to the hinges and pre-drill at the angle of the hole. Takes no time at all and will save you a lot of grief in the long run.
